DEAR UNCLE DICK,
Shouldn't that be "some day my prints will come"? Or is it "the
artwork formerly known as Prints"?
CHEERS!

Dear Nephew Vick,
I too have a confession to make. No, not the one about the chicken
suit and the pound of Crisco. The one about buying photographic gear that
was unneeded and unwanted.
Unneeded by the seller and unneeded by me. Possibly unneeded by the
manufacturer and every poor fool down the line. The complete bellows unit
and the rotating prism come to mind, followed by the 70 mm backs and the
clip-on viewfinder. But I bought 'em and I dutifully put them in the camera
bag and looked for that one time when they would be invaluable. One day my
prince will come....
I console myself with the occasional purchase that looks to be a dud
and turns out to be a gem. I bought a lens from a seller on eBay that had
never been out of the box. No wonder - it was a shutterless 180mm Tessar
from the DDR that no-one in the whole rest of the world would touch. It went
on my giant wooden studio camera in front of a Packard shutter and has
proved a historic wonder - 1920's images straight from the camera.
Excuse me, Vick, I'm just off to bid on a lens that is certified to
work under butter....
Uncle Dick
