Have you tried Linux on that device yet? It would be nice to know if 
the X driver does work correctly with it.
Currently, the app_server ignores the safe-mode setting if a driver is 
available... but that should be easily fixable, at least :-)
Does that machine have a serial output cable? Will you attend next 
BeGeistert?

I guess Haiku runs fine as well in case you remove the intel_extreme 
driver?
