Have the collective considered using nano/pico?

I've proposed nano some time ago, but could not find the message anymore... I'd certainly favor nano as a mean and lean CLI-editor that's usable even for newbies without cheatsheets and strange shortcuts.

As a regular Linux user and relative BeOS newbie, I'd firmly agree with considering nano as a lightweight CLI editor. pico I remember picking up with little effort when I was new to Linux and pine was all the rage. Vim still fills me with a feeling of dread all these years later - to the extent that with any distro (be that Linux or one-day-to-be Haiku) the first thing I do is install nano so I can get on with hacking about all the other stuff. :)

I'm not advocating it just because it's my personal favourite - it's just that, in my limited experience, it's the one I found most intuative (and isn't that supposed to be the BeOS way?)

Kind regards,

Tony Jackson
