I'd have to disagree, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'd go with a primate. (RhesOS?... ;)
I'd rather have jokes about "monkey business" than 
base the name/mascot on a feeling of rivalry towards Linux.
That's just lame and uncool.
