It's really hard to say. I would guess that Intel might your best long 
term choice, but it might not work in the beginning (if you don't want 
to lend me your laptop :-)).

Since your running Haiku, and since your not a gamer, I think the Intel 
graphics chipset is just fine - it's not "dog slow". Only the 3D part 
is much slower than those of the high-end nVidia or ATI stuff; if you 
don't need to play the latest 3D games, there is obviously no reason to 
invest into a better (for 3D) graphics adapter.
