Hullo!
Sorry to interrupt, but while we're at the subject of intel graphics driver
support...
I'll buy a new notebook soon and was wondering what you guys would consider
the most sensible choice of graphics, considering BeOS/Haiku was my main
system. Should I go with the intel 950/945GM since that is open source and
thus potentially best/easiest supported for 2D/3D in the future? Or are the
NVIDIA offerings also an option? I'm not sure, considering Rudolf
Cornelissen's retreat and the time-consuming reverse engineering business...
OTOH, the i950 is dog slow compared to dedicated graphics solutions, and it
feels decadent to drag a high-end Core 2 Duo system down with mediocre
graphics... Then again, since I'm no gamer, maybe I shouldn't care too much.
But the system has to hold for 5 years; who knows maybe I'll take up gaming
or Haiku R3 boasts a 3D accellerated desktop... :)
You see my dilemma?
Anyone got an opinion?
Thanks!
J.Seemer
