I would even like an option to auto hide it (the current solutions don't work right, as keeping it always on top makes it get into your way, and not keeping it on top makes it hard to reach it. Actually I use Workspace switcher which has a sort of Deskbar activation when the mouse goes there), for example it could show itself when you put the mouse in the "right" corner of the screen.
