Hi,
Okay, I have to go, because all I'm trying to do is burn an audio CD from my
.ogg files, and maybe I'm SOL today in BeOS/Haiku land.
BeOS's CDBurner doesn't like .oggs. Okay, so apparently in Haiku this is not
the case. I download the ~27th Haiku build that I've tried since January, and
it still won't boot because the Haiku bootloader can't ever find the boot
volume for whatever reason, and yes, I've run makebootable, the BeOS version
and the Haiku version, and none of them work. Okay, so I try the instructions
at http://haiku-os.org/experience.php?mode=view_nhf&id=5 . I reboot, and no
dice. The media_server is running, but the addon server crashes on startup
every time. I try the multi_audio.media_addon from the Build Factory, which
has an older version in it too, tried both of them, same result. So I go to
the haiku-os.org forums, and I can't login, even though it's the same username
and password I've had in there since the beginning of time, so I guess my
account is inactive (if that's the case, notifications would be welcome in the
future), and the fifth time, I am locked out. Here's the stack
crawl requested on that web page. I've run out of time trying to be of use in
debugging today.

If you can offer any help, it would be appreciated, but I'm gone until Tuesday
after this.
Thanks,
Kev
