well, this is something in the middle,
it's not cvs and it's not a binary.
the problem is that binaries are big.
and compilations are cycles sucking.
for example, u want to see the latest and greatest opentracker.
u see that one file got updated with bug fixes, but u don't want to download the cvs tree, or a binary someone built.
as i said, this is something in the middle,
u download the objects and linking is done.
u don't need make/jamfiles. u don't need to know what is going on.
this is a fast update, but as i said,
u will have to keep a seperate folder with all the objects, and the size of all of them combined is the same size as the binary.
I would love for this idea to be merged as a feature to one of the already existing work in progress update apps.
i'd think that any one who is in the dev team or realy curious will know how to use cvs but i bin update tool is more for anyone who realy doesnt want to deal with compilation ect. this would be a wonderful tool for newbes.
