Hi George,

I've participated in the development of PPPOA, and PPPOE modules of
that router platform, this is why I choose the PPP implementation
idea.

Based on the my network development background, I also think I am able
to handle NFSv4 client idea. But honestly I should, and I will, spend
more time on it than the previous one.

Moreover, I didn't find the mentors for the project ideas, can anybody
tell me who will mentor these two projects? Maybe I can exchange some
emails with them for the further details. Really Appreciate it!

Welcome to the project and thanks for your interest!

Waldemar Kornewald wrote most of the PPP stack, but he left the project a long time ago. In recent times, Philippe Houdoin (phoudoin) worked on related tasks. Axel Dörfler (axeld) is most knowledgeable of the kernel network stack, but there are several other peolpe with knowledge in this area.

Now I am trying the setup the basic development environment in my own
laptop, and will start to work on some patch soon.

www.haiku-os.org/guides should be helpful. Please don't hesitate to ask for help when you get stuck. The IRC channel #haiku on Freenode is most helpful for real-time help.

Once you have your environment setup, you could start digging into the code. Most likely this generates some concrete ideas and questions. You could post them to the haiku-development list, everybody who could potentially help you reads that list.

Have fun!

Best regards,
-Stephan
