The issue if you don't make the image for 16:9 then it will look streched and distorted when put on a screen of that ratio. Same goes for 4:3.
My idea was to write in the rules that the wallpapers must be in 16:9 format, but look good in 4:3. They should not be stretched by Haiku, but clipped (upper and/or lower part wont be displayed). Is this possible in Haiku? The advantage of this is that we only need to include one wallpaper (16:9) instead of two. The disadvantage is that it must be clipped, if that is even possible.
The idea behind it is you could have the two very large images and cover most resolutions because images usually scale down well, hence fewer files. The disadvantages is size and still not being able to cover resolutions larger than the image.
We are agreed that only one (very large) wallpaper should be sent in, so we can scale it (down) to the size we want. The question is if we need two formats (4:3 and 16:9). Patrik
