Unfortunately I think it is inevitable that sometimes updated code
will contain bugs and break something. The only way to avoid that when
delivering updates is to be very careful about updates and try to test
them thoroughly. But still things may slip through the cracks.

Personally I think Ubuntu does updates *WAY* too often. But to be fair
they have rarely caused any problems.

Things might be better with Haiku because it is a more consistent
system and one group has a large amount of control of the code. So it
is less likely that one group would break things for another without
knowing it. On the other hand this is something Linux will never be
able to fix because it is such a cobbled together system.
