I guess you need to provide some circumstancial clues. Ie, what are you 
doing at the time this happens, what software is running, what is Tracker 
doing... and so on. Is this on BeOS or Haiku? You could also use 
ProcessController to "Debug this Thread" while it is missbehaving and then 
get a stack crawl to see what it was doing exactly, because it sounds like 
an infinite loop.
