-1 for using 7zip until it is actually 100% working on Haiku.  So far it is not.

I'd be ok with taking the binary package and a zip of the sources and
zipping those into one bigger file though.

+1 Nice offer Dennis, just be sure to clear it with whoever might have
been a past maintainer.  Some of these might already be hosted on
other sites like sourceforge or berlios, so you might try searching
there first.

+1 for at least linking back to original page, and if a package it
still maintained by the original author then they should be given
editing rights/veto rights of the entry on Haikuware.

+1 for Karl taking on such a large project.
