ZooKeeper would fit the bill, if jpgtrans(?) is willing and able. 

I don't think I use it much, myself, except for launching 
a long-gone GhostView on postscript files I open in Tracker.. ö)

If you want to use ZooKeeper for a specific, repetitive task, you open 
it (to get to its preferences editor), change the command-line to 
execute, the supported mimetypes and preferrably also the application 
signature (using Tracker's FileTypes add-on). You might also want to 
rename it from ZooKeeper to whatever best describes it's new purpose, 
and perhaps change the icon.

If anybody wants to bundle ZooKeeper derivates, 
(e.g., a set of Tracker add-ons), feel free! That's why I made it.

BTW, wasn't there some photo editing Tracker add-on
mentioned on BeBits recently? I tried looking back 99 days, 
but I couldn't find it.
