You see the "slideshow" just as a viewer and nothing more. I see the
"slideshow" as an extension of "ShowImage". I thought it was nice that
I do not have to open and close every file in a certain directory
anymore. It is nice to "slide" between them and maybe drag and drop
some selections.
You don't see "slideshow" as an extension. You see it as a standalone
application that does not need drag and drop functions.

If you see the "slideshow" application as a viewer, you do not need all
the functionality of the "showimage" application. With the 80% claim I
ment the functionality of the "showimage" application that you should
have taken over into the "slideshow" application.
I understand your opinion, but I think that the slideshow is a small
issue, and many will think it is good and others will think it is bad.
But that depends on how you use the "showimage" application.
I agree on you Simon, that if you want to do more then "showing the
image" you should use another application for that. But with a
"slideshow" option you do not change a picture, you just go to
anotherone to "show". So this is no problem for the "ShowImage"
application ;).
