[openbeos] SV: Re: Haiku-key

I second that.

I come from Windows and I'm used to use CTRL+. These daye's I try's to use
alt on windows :)

As it is today we attracts Linux user most of the time not windows users.
Who do we want to use Haiku?
Former BeOS users.
Linux users
Windows users
Mac Users

I don't know if I'm stepping on some once tow's now but.
BeOS users that's easy.
Linux users they tend to have easier to change
Mac has after osX some what easier to change than Windows user.
Windows users are the worst (7 years of windows support tells me that).

So where do this put us?
For Linux users we would make it easier if they change to the BeOS way.
For Windows and Mac users it would be good if they could work as they did on
the old system (Windows/Mac). They have enough of changing program's they
are use to work with.

But in the end we should have the same thought as the maker of c++ hade
(that's what my teacher says any way) when stroustrup was creating c++. If
you don't use one of the futures (like ctrl+ and other Windows/Mac things)
it won't cost you anything in speed etc(if this can be dune).

That's what I thinks are need for world domination ;)

Ever considered that the vast mayority of users could come from ms-windows
which does use CTRL+... As shortcut.
Therefore I would prefer to have the "switch CTRL and ALT as shortkey" as an
option (like Be did (although its a hack)

It's not only about swallowing pride -- in fact, Alt is a better key than
Ctrl, as you can still type as normal if you hold the modifier key with
your thumb, something you cannot do if you press it using your pinkie.

I vote -1 on that change.
