 Maybe don't you understand that Palm bought (with $) BeOS too.

If you succeed in your quest, all  that  you will gain is " the right to ** PAY 
 **   " to help Palm
to develop BeOS...

If:

1/ You want a license at 0 $
Never, Palm will find an interest to *GIVE* you a license (and of course the 
access to the source code).
Stop comparison with the case of Sun or Netscape....  IT'S DIFFERENT

2/ You want a license a XXXX $
Who pay?
 YOU will never find developers which agree to pay to work gratis on an OS 
which can make Palm earn money.

To join in stupidity is not a solution, but we can dream....  please don't ask 
us to believe that Palm can be mad enough
to give what it buyed.  ( if you have time to spend, you can contact Microsoft 
to release all the source of their
products ;) )
