Guillaume,

Everything starts with a dream. Ask your parents. ;)

1) BeOS won't be available for $50. It will offer more and cost
more. But people will be delighted to pay more.
2) Who said that offering the BeOS is our only source of revenue?
3) I "managed" to get over 6000 people paying for an obscure
browser in 1.5 yrs in Germany alone (all on my own), for $35 a
pop. Do you think I would even consider getting into this if
all I get after a year is 10.000 paying customers worldwide?
4) I can tell you exactly why only 4 people paid $5 for Eden, but
that's another subject altogether.
5) Yes, it will not be cheap to get good developers dedicated to
the project, but there is plenty of money, goodwill and skills
out there. All we need right now is certainty, and that can
only come from Palm. But we can add to that certainty by
making it compelling enough to Palm to actually "say yes".
What I'm saying is this: join us now! If Palm says "No", you
can still pursue your "gratis work in spare time" plans.
Nothing lost. But if we dilute our efforts before we even have
that certainty, then we may never get what we want in the
first place. Sort of a self-fulfilling prophecy. And a catch
22 too.
