I agree with you, but I think that you have misunderstood what I think Nathan 
was saying.
I think that he was trying to say that GE should not contribute every idea ever 
brought up
on their mailing list wholesale, but that GE, internally, should seriously 
consider every idea and
try to have some filtration methodology within itself, so that what comes out 
of the GE project 
is the "best of breed" ideas. Then the coders can decide to do/not to do. I 
think that is a lot of
value added, from GE, and it is exactly what Nathan and I discussed when we 
"merged" GE into 
OBOS.
