[openbeos] Re: Progress reports

"I believe we should do that one as soon as Haiku is
actually stable enough to do development work, regardless of how
easy/smooth it is to install."

We're there now. I've been doing lots of porting work on a fairly
stable platform for the past 2-3 weeks here. Mostly on vmware images
though. Still there's a few important issues that need to be
addressed still before an Alpha should be done. I personally think
that an 8/19 target date could be achieved, and add 2008 as the year
behind that date. Or maybe a date in October to give time enough to
roll GsoC work into the project? I think setting a date and a short
list of minor milestones leading up to that date would help focus
tasks.

* Stable development tools (nearly there i think)
* bootable CD/installer
* Isolate, kill, crush listed Alpha issues that drop into KDL
* others?

As I write this there are 33 open Alpha tickets, but of those I see 2
or 3 issues that drop into KDL that I run into from time to time, but
many of the things on the list I think we could go to alpha without
having closed.
Perhaps a new update to the alpha report Niels?
