I agree with Jorge, and I will cease this somewhat charged discussion but I must address what you wrote above. I never said Design is just "looking pretty". Design is what it is, and the graphical component isn't a separable or more/less important part of any design. I never said, nor implied (in my view) that any component has a higher priority. As a matter of fact, I specifically said that no component can/should have a higher priority. Design, wether it be Communication, Industrial, Interaction, etc. is a complete whole. Again, I won't continue to argue on what design is, but I do want to correct any misconceptions about what I am saying.

As far as my idea regarding "practitioner", I must admit I was responding to my own perception of the word's connotation rather than to its actual definition.
