You would not be able to run old binaries (be it PPC or x86) because
the compilers that are used have different name mangling for C++
symbols.
The GCC software packet can be used to create many different binary
formats.
Theoretically, it would be possible to support different binary formats
in OpenBeOS, but I see little or no benefit due to that.
