[openbeos] Open BeOS

Hello,

Could you tell me if there is currently a distribution of Open BeOS? I could not find any install ISO's on your site. Do I need to have a working BeOS5 install to work from? (a la GNU/Hurd on Debian).

I like the idea of your Open BeOS, I could not find the source code for BeOS5, it does not seem to be included.

I am interested to know how much of BeOS technology you are recreating? will you be taking advantage of other open/free software that is used extensively by other projects such as GNU and BSD OS's ? If there could be an XFree98 server of OpenBeOS I would then be able to compile all my KDE/gtk software etc.

I wonder if you have an IRC channel and on which server? Is this information on your website anywhere? Could source code and cvs access be more prominent on your site? (It took me quite a while to find it)

I installed BeOSMax, (http://beosmax.org/), this seems to be just a patched version of BeOS 5 Personal Edition (http://www.bebits.com/app/2680). However the Desktop crashes while loading sometimes, is there anyway I can get a debug log of this to work out what is going on? Is there anyone on the net who might have a fix this problem? or be able to help me diagnose it..

I also found BeOS Developer Edition version 1.1 (http://www.bebits.com/app/3173), could you tell me if there is any difference between this and BeOS5?
