Although it's something I'd hate to see happen, what if a distributor 
that has a lot of drivers ported to OBOS (all under GPL)?  
Theoretically, they could also change the license to their distribution 
of OBOS to GPL and avoid all those issues - the MIT license allows for 
this.

Please note that I'm just stating a possibility, and do not condone 
such an action (fragmenting, IMHO).
