[openbeos] OFFLIST : Re: Re: What a wonderful thing to read

Michael, I did up an, um, interesting news item on BeGroovy on this,
but want to make sure you don't mind the posting of before I put
it "online". It's obsured, to say the least, and fun - but then, I've
been here all night, and fun in my mind might not be in anyone else's
right now. :P

I used "Lost in Translation", a site that does 10 babelfish
translations on stuff, on this statement....

"Start thinking of a new name for the open version of our beloved
operating system. In a message accidentally sent publically, it was
conceded that the name must be changed, and that ideas will be accepted
in the near future for use in a public poll."

And it came out like this:

"It begins to think to a new name for the open version ours appreciates
the software of the operation. In a warning, this was transmitted
involuntary publically, ingualmente confessed that the name must be
changed and that the ideas are accepted in the future immediate for the
use in an open voice."

So, I posted the _idea_ and a link to lost in translation, and then
the "translated" version, with the original "hidden" below it in white
text with small sized font (you can highlight the whitespace area to
see the original text).

What do you think? Fun post, lame idea, or don't bother at all?
Should I include a "hidden" link to your post on the freelist
archives?

Will wait on your response before putting the news item "online" or
not. :)

will clog up everyone's mailboxes, but we need a new name. Basically
for legal reasons. No, no one has threatened or anything, but the time
has come. OBOS or OpenBeOS is not really legally defensible in the US,
so it has to change. Suggestions will be solicited SHORTLY in an
appropriate forum. At some point, they will be voted on by the general
community and we will have a new name. So, please, get your thinking
caps on but don't post any ideas here. A forum will be provided.
