We had this mailing list already once, it just didn't work out, as 
nobody used it. OS development topics are best discussed in the 
appropriate team list. An application developer could be happy with the 
current bedev, though.
So maybe it's okay to point them to this mailing list at first - newbie 
developers probably won't start with trickery development problems, but 
much simpler ones that still fit the general discussions here.

Yes, I think we should start in the beta phase with this. Having a 
public beta is a good idea, IMO, as it enables Haiku to get tested on a 
wide variety of hardware before we can actually assume production 
quality.
