I would be curious to see what Mac OS X does for this. Does it also
have smaller icons for such use as you imply? I would imagine some of
those gigantic very detailed PNG icons used there don't scale down too
well, so I suppose it must.

For Haiku icons I must admit designing them with 16x16 in mind is
challenging. The Level of Detail settings can help, but I don't think
I've quite mastered that yet (I think Stephan and zuMi are better at
it since they have more experience designing Haiku icons.)

I have had thoughts that Deskbar should use bigger icons, but like
Humdinger says that could waste some precious screen real estate.
Maybe 24x24 would be a good compromise versus going up to 32x32, but
as Stephan says that may require some tweaking of the icon rendering
code. I also think such a thing would require some UI tweaking too.

Either way I would really like to see more use of 64x64 icons in
Haiku. Right now about the only way to see them is in Tracker's 64x64
Icon View mode and in LaunchBox. Maybe the Twitcher window could be
tweaked a bit to use them (or 48x48.) Also maybe the shutdown progress
window. Though maybe such big icons would not work as well in the
clean Haiku interface as they do in the Mac OS X interface...
