This is an in interesting point -- the kernel should totally be able to be
"localized" without breaking binary.  Of course, probably some numerical
error code should be made (and an error-code-to-X terminal miniapplet) in
this case, so that bug reports can be properly done.

Maybe even a "don't panic.  Only your unsaved data is lost."  message
should come up when it hits the KDL.
