Well put, Stephan! :)
The default Haiku icon set is an important part our visual
identity. Can we afford a complete break with the BeOS?
I think we should not switch to another style of icons, unless
the overall visual identity (a larger re-design of icons,
tabs/borders, in-application color schemes*)
offers a substantial improvement.
People should be free to change themes, with ease, but
out-of-the-box we need to show our heritage. There are
a lot of people who used to like BeOS, and the Haiku
connection might not be clear to everyone.
Of course, we also need to attract the ones that
never knew the BeOS.
/Jonas.
