[openbeos] Re: IDE Questions?

Please don't misunderstand -- the guys on Haiku don't want to give the
users the shaft. What was meant by a third party opportunity is that a
third party could create the app and distromakers could include it.

tqh and all the other BeZilla guys have done such a nice job with
ensuring that we all have a nice web browser available for BeOS OSes.
Does it make a lot of sense to incorporate the hundreds of source files
into the tree in order to have a browser? I don't think so.

BeIDE wasn't included in the base R5PE distro -- it was a separate
package. *Personally* speaking, I wouldn't mind seeing Pe in the tree
to put to rest all the different variants floating around and to have a
decent development editor included. Whether that actually happens is up
to the rest of the team, though.

Considering we have a PDF printer in the tree, this doesn't sound like
a bad idea, but the next question would be where we stop including
other apps into the tree.
