Ray -
you will find that this discussion has been brought up and concluded several
times in the past year. you may like to search through the mailing list
archives (google has a great index of them - just gogle for OBOS and security)
to find your answer most easily
as a summary answer to your question: no.
OBOS R1 is an attempt to recreate the functionality of BeOS R5
you will find that the security features of OBOS will feel and act much like
BeOS R5
those working hard on the project are not short-sighted or narrow-minded and
therefore can see good security as a necessary goal for future version.
bearing this in mind - low level features that are neccesary to support
additionally security later on are being considered and added in places where
we don't want to have to "start-from-scratch" another time just to save a small
amount of effort today. nonetheless - the current goal is STILL focused on
matching the existing features of BeOS rather than adding everything we've
always wanted.
