You should've checked the FAQ before posting those questions :-) But anyway
I'll response to them, in order (if I made a mistake, please someone else to
correct me ) :
> First is Beos kernel is it opensource?
Yes.
> gpl?
No. Under MIT license.
> Secound how does it handle gui. is it something like X servers?
Yes and no. There's definitely a GUI server, but it's definitely not X. It's a
brand new, from scratch, high-performance GUI server.
> Third if the gui is gpl can it be ported to linux or bsd.
So it's not GPL. But sure it can be ported to Linux (AFAIK we can put MIT code
inside GPL'd project, but we can't put GPL code inside MIT'd project).

Poor you :-)

Poor you :-)

Well ... and notepad look alike on every GUI OS too. But I don't really see a
point, as a shell is just ... a shell. Not an OS.

Have all that. But I can't remember if the current version is build under GCC
2xxx (for binary compatibility) or GCC 3xxx (for performance gain).

You're welcome ! Have fun in the little community...
