[openbeos] Helmars discussion

From what I've been hearing from helmars emails
is that he wants the people involved in or
interested in openbeos to support a proprietary
sourcecode effort dealt with Palm. His argumentation
in support of this deal consists of a list of supporters,
a call to unity, and a threat that an open beos wont
amount to anything.

From my perspective, this list alone is a sure sign
of unity from the beos community, granted not everyone
is here, but there is a large body of OS/app developers
here ready to do something. Beyond that, this list
seems to include many beos celebs (and top technical
talents) beyond even what ive seen in support of a
palm plan. Everyone here is ready to make something happen,
I dont see how that could reflect negatively on the be
community.

As far as doubt cast across this projects success. Thats
obviously a matter of opinion (and faith?) and we can
only take helmars words as one statistic on the cautious
side, which should help keep us sober. But going along with
many of the voiced sentiments in here, I want to have fun, and
Im not really concerned with the bottom line. Business apps arent
any concern of mine.
