[openbeos] Re: Haiku presentation

I would focus on the cool stuff from the user's point of view. I have done this often in talking with press people - don't focus on the journaling of the filesystem, focus on the fact that it has a simple recovery mechanism such that it doesn't need chkdisk. Something like: Unlike other operating systems, when you lose power, there is no need to wait for the disk to get checked, it just works. *

* - Yes, I know that the journal has to get replayed. But that isn't visible to the end user.

Basically, the process is a sales process - taking technical specs and turning it into things that the user really does want to hear about. Fast booting so that you don't have to leave your computer on. Small disk image so you have more room for your MP3s. Fast, responsive UI so that you don't have to replace your computer every 2 years. The list goes on and on.

Hi again,

I'm trying to be a little more precise ;)))

We're very different people in the class - peeps from CE,
EE, from mechanical department and wannabe teachers so it
wouldn't be a great idea to speak about technical stuff.
I've heard one of 10 minute presentations on Wednesday and
my professor didn't care about technical stuff. He was
interested about speaker's feelings, experiences on subject,
why he likes it, etc.

So ideas, experiences and good stories are welcome 8)))

Cheers,
Csaba
