I can only comment that I have run Haiku on a Core 2 Duo from time to time. 
I don't run it on this machine often, because writing any pages to disk 
will kind of freeze the ide subsystem. The os continues to run, but any 
processes accessing the disk will be stuck. Other than these problems, I 
have not noticed any particular instability on the Core 2 Duo. But I have 
high hopes for the SATA AHCI drivers and I am looking forward to running 
Haiku on the Core 2 Duo more often then.
