[haiku] Re: Haiku Inc: Proposed Annual Budget

I'm pretty sure that I have a legal obligation to pay tax (income tax or gift tax) for money received, regardless who

I meant the other way around: as a non-profit, Haiku Inc. does not pay taxes on received donations, so all the money received can be used for the cause; I don't know if that would be the case for donations made to HSA.

There is also the question of whether HSA would want to
take up the role of collecting and distributing the funds.

I like the idea of an independent, european legal entity with
some purposes similar to those of Haiku, Inc. Primarily since
many of us live in Europe (shared currency, etc). But it likely
weakens Haiku Inc's position and might remove some of its income.

As long as the income usable by the project is maximized, I personally would not care whether the funds come through Haiku Inc. or HSA.

Hmm... http://www.befan.org/ "It works" ? :}

Correct me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure HSA is BeFan.
