Well it seems that BeOS really was trying to help with that error message. It
turns out that the motherboard on my new computer didn't automatically enable
the hard drive I added after I got it. I had to go into the motherboard setup
and tell it explicitly that I had added a second hard drive.
After that I used bootpart to add BeOS to the XP startup menu and was able to
boot into BeOS.
Next up. Trying to get my Intel Pro 10/100 ethernet working.
