Yes it should work with open.
It's a simple case, but it could be useful in some issues like making
cross-platform CDroms... a form of portable autorun for example...
That kind of standard is interesting for that.
I thought long ago of a standardized list of commands to use from CDs
for ex, that each platform should implement to be able to use them.
Simplest would be an open command to launch a browser to an Intro html.
