The community is so polarized on this issue for one basic reason:
developers don't want their partially-finished work shown to the
public, whereas non-developers don't have this concern. For what it is
worth, I totally understand the view of the developers (I am one after
all, but my "sphere of influence" in Haiku isn't quite as big as Axel,
Ingo, Stephan, etc.)

It's just a classic case of do the possible advantages of branded CDs as FalterCon (a few more developers willing to work on Haiku) outweigh the possible disadvantages (Haiku crapping out on too many people, turning them off). Personally, I think the advantages *do* outweigh the disadvantages, but that's just me. On top of that, I don't think it matters all that much whether those three men and a cow (no offense) who pick up a CD at FalterCon get a branded or a de- branded one. Storm in a teacup, you know.

Anyway, the admin team thinks differently than I (and others) do, and that's just fine, I understand their concerns. I'm much happier with a decision I don't agree with, than no decision at all.
