I vote for verbose listing off and no option to turn it on. Expander 
should be the tool to "get the job done" and to have clean out of the 
box archive support in the OS, if anything more complicated is needed, 
there are other tools out there. Can you come up with a usage scenario, 
where a user would like to view the permissions of each file? And there 
is also an argument about having the listing be consitent across 
different types of archives (zip, lha, ...). I don't see a good reason 
to display some info in one case, and not in the other.
