[openbeos] Re: Expander's behaviour (was: unrar)

Hello,

Would be the nicest way of showing the contents (it resembles the way
winzip-the classic view / or even the way Windows zipFOLDERview shows the
archives contents and those are both very nice ways to show the contents)
further it maybe could optional to show the files and directories like the
tracker does show them so adding and/or removing of files could be made
easier (although that -see description below- sounds like featurecreep ;o))

I even think that zipping/unzipping should Be part of the Tracker because it
seems natural to me that something wich has to do with file operations
(copy/paste/delete/move/zip/unzip/rar/unrar/encrypt/decrypt/etc..) will be
done from within the tracker window by most people, most preferably like
this, and maybe in the tracker-settings one could set what the default
zip/unzip fileformat is to be used (ZIP or RAR/ARC/etc...)

Now it (at least in Zeta) is placed in File > Add-ons > Zip-O-Matic or just
to start it (Expander/Squeezer) from the Be/Zeta-deskbar.

What about using the ColumnListView which is already part of OpenTracker (or
the newer one from Vision or the extended version from me - @Axel don't
ask;) instead of a simple TextView?

This way, the user could decide which columns to show/hide (maybe even per
file/archive-type).
No need for explicit or implicit settings - just swap out a GUI-component.

This would also finally allow for sorting based on size, age etc.
I think this could be done without too much effort (so no feature-creep;),
and brush up good old Expander quite a lot.

As I have worked on the ListView in the past, I'd be tempted to try it out
on the weekend, but I've broken too many self-made promises in the
past,-)...
