What about using the ColumnListView which is already part of OpenTracker (or the newer one from Vision or the extended version from me - @Axel don't ask;) instead of a simple TextView?

This way, the user could decide which columns to show/hide (maybe even per file/archive-type).
No need for explicit or implicit settings - just swap out a GUI-component.

This would also finally allow for sorting based on size, age etc.
I think this could be done without too much effort (so no feature-creep;), and brush up good old Expander quite a lot.

As I have worked on the ListView in the past, I'd be tempted to try it out on the weekend, but I've broken too many self-made promises in the past,-)...
