Templates are neither thread safe nor non-thread safe. It's just a language
feature. STL is an implementation that uses templates. And yes, I too believe
that STLPort should be used with gcc 2.95.3. I've heard that it's a part of
gcc 3, but I have read mixed reviews of gcc 3 and would prefer to wait (at
least with gcc 3 and 3.0.1).
