I think the media kit is giving you in in_info some
raw bytes from the beginning of the file that you should use to determine if
you support that file,
and return B_OK if you do it.
But as this seems to belong to the private api we don't have, I don't know this
for sure :)

Can't you just return B_OK and see what happens next?
