AFAIK you can not remove directories with cvs.
You can specify a command line option to cvs when you checkout
files that it should not check out empty directories.
If you want to delete directories you have to delete them manually
in the repository (I mean the global repository, not your working copy).
I don't know if you have access to or how you can
access it at SourceForge...
