Okay, I know now why this has happened - anonymous CVS access is now 
served by a backup CVS server. Great...
Anyway, it's not possible to switch between anonymous and logged in 
access anymore (I need to do that, because my CVS+SSH connection seems 
to produce garbage on large updates).
