[openbeos] Re: Building Haiku on linux

I'm having no problems building on CentOS (Linux). Sometimes I run into
problems building, for one reason or another; I usually just start from
square one if I'm completely stuck:

1. Delete the "buildtools" and "trunk" directories you checked out with SVN.
2. Delete "/opt/cross-tools" (or whatever directory you exported the cross
compilation binaries to)
3. Follow this document:
http://haiku-os.org/wiki/index.php?title=Getting_Linux_Developer_Tools
4. Follow this document:
http://haiku-os.org/wiki/index.php?title=Getting_Haiku_Source
5. Follow this document:
http://haiku-os.org/wiki/index.php?title=Building_Haiku_Source In the
section "Fetching Jam" you can skip the part about checking out Jam, as you
already have the buildtools from step 3. You simply need to change to the
Jam directory and run make.

Also, it may be worth mentioning you seem to need special privileges
(through sudo or an account) or else the build won't succeed.

This seems to always work for me when I have problems I can't seem to
remedy. Hope it helps.
