Ubuntu for PPC is currently community supported as you may know, so it is
slower to implement some stuff. I would choose Yellowdog despite it is
fedora based (RPM Hell) because it is my main machine and Yellowdog is the
only one supporting old airport cards and WPA encryption wich is what I use
in my network. If you know a way to enable old airport cards and WPA on
Ubuntu I will appreciate those instructions since Ubuntu is tidier than
Yellowdog. Right now I just want to experiment with a
development environments to see wich one fits me better. If I get a new
computer this Christmas that wont be a problem, I could fully use my Imac
for Haiku PPC tryouts
