Not everyone has to have write access to the repository.
I can foresee a future where only a bunch of people have write access to our
repository (who knows, I couldn't even be included in such a small group), and
the rest just send patches (it's what happens in really big projects, like
linux or *BSD).
Pahtz or Oliver Tappe didn't have write access, but that didn't stop them to
write good code and send it as patches.
No one told them: you shall work on xyz. They looked at the code, found it
suboptimally, and fixed it.
Other people can do that as well.
I, for one, would like someone else to have a look at my own code, test it, try
to fix bugs, find places where things can be done better. Take the situation we
experienced these days: it took little time to Christian Packmann to find a
thing I had done wrong / suboptimally in BRegion. He doesn't have write access
to the repository, and still he helped the project.
Yes, we can improve comunications in many places, like there aren't clear tasks
in many places, but one should always have a look at the code in the cvs, test
it and see what's missing, as sometimes it's
I'd like someone to add/fix things in BTextView for example, as it's a very
boring work for me (as I don't like to write controls at all), still there is
no one around and I'm doing it when I have time. Note that I didn't write it
and I'm trying to understand the code, so I'm in the same position as everyone
else, regarding BTextView. What's missing in BTextView ? I don't know: test it
and you'll know.
